Bubble Bliss

Image
My youngest daughter is nearly 20 months old.  I know!  I cannot believe it either.  Even more unbelievable is the fact that she had her very first ever bubble bath this past weekend.  How is it possible that she has been deprived of bubble baths for her entire life?  We don't tend to take bubble baths at our house since several of us have sensitive skin, but when Sophie started to feel a bit unimportant near the end of Emma's birthday party on Saturday evening, I convinced her that a special jacuzzi bath with her baby sister would cure what ailed her.  My mom had just sent us some fancy organic lavender bubble bath, so that went into the water as well... and Voila!  We had just produced the world's happiest baby.  He cheers of, "BOBBLE!  BOBBLE! BOBBLE!!!" could be heard all over the house. I really love living with a toddler.  A toddler knows nothing of holding back emotions.  So while we sometimes have back-arching, howling t...

Relax. It's the Weekend, Baby!

Relax, baby!  Take a luxurious bath.  If someone is already in the tub, convince him to let you join in the fun... "Hey Dad, do you think I could get in on this??" If he seems unaccomodating, just climb right on in anyway... "Alley-oop!  Here I come!!" Once you're in there, let the good times commence... "Would you mind scrubbing my back with that loofa, please?" Splash about for good measure... "Don't get too close unless you want a shower." Finally just let yourself go, and enjoy the moment... "I swear those bubbles are coming from the jacuzzi jets."

Splish Splash I Was Takin' a Bath...

If only the other kids were this enthusuastic about bath time... This explains why I get a shower every time Lili has a bath.

The sun peeked its head out today, so I went out for a brisk walk in hopes of dislodging some of those Cadbury creme eggs from my thighs.  When I returned, I found this delightful sight!  Rub-a-dub-dub, three kids and George in a standard sized British bathtub.  I'm surprised there was any room left for the water! I'm not sure which one is cuter? Happy Easter weekend!

Calgon Didn't Take Her Anywhere She Wanted to Go...

Everyone was excited about Lili's first proper bath tonight. Everyone, that is, except Lili. This is pretty much how it all went.... But all's well that ends well. She was ever so grateful when her daddy pulled her out of that horrible tub. And now she smells of Burt's Bees' lovely buttermilk soap. Mmmm. So this tired mom is about to go and cwtch up with sweet smelling, clean, sleepy baby... Goodnight All.
